The framework exists to identify the competencies, personal attributes and skills required to complete their role to the highest standard. This tool can be used to provide effective and focused CPD directed at these roles and can also be utilised to support practice development through induction, performance monitoring, feedback, supervision, ongoing CPD development, preparation for taking on more responsibility and or preparing for promotion. The competency framework is set against HIQA regulations, standards and themes.
