This module has being designed specifically for direct supporters and front-line managers who work in environments where they are in regular contact with individuals who at times engage in behaviour of concern. The purpose of this programme is to provide learners with the appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes to support individuals who engage in behaviours of concern using Positive Behaviour Support methods and approaches. The model is a mix of human rights based and person centred approaches. The focus is on understanding why an individual engages in behaviours of concern determined by the completion of a detailed functional assessment. The findings of this assessment process will determine the intervention design, implementation and monitoring of the Positive Behaviour Support Plan.
